Iceland

I was in Iceland for ten days in September - the perfect time, with rich light, stunning autumn colours, and the Aurora Borealis. Nights in my tent were pretty cold though, and the weather was ... very Icelandic!

I managed a complete circle by Highway 1, as well as (courtesy of a very kind Belgian, Terry Vermandel) a trip by dirt road into the haunting, desolate centre to the volcanic crater of Askja, as well as the hot springs around Landmannalaugar. Conditions were challenging, but created very atmospheric sullen skies. I had three sunny days, with some amazing views.

What an extraordinary place!

Stills Shoot for Short Film 'Best Man'

I was lucky enough to be asked to do a stills shoot during the filming of the award-winning short film Best Man, shot around Dunoon in the Cowal Peninsula of the South West Highlands of Scotland.

Despite some seriously wet weather and rampant midges the shoot was great fun. I also got to be Assistant Director for the production, and was later asked to record and engineer the sound track.
